ABOUT ABIGAIL BIBBY
Abigail has been dancing for over 30 years, first learning to dance at Peggy Glenn's Dancing School in her home town of Morecambe. At eleven years old she went to Betty Patttison's Dancing Academy and Theatre Arts in Coventry, followed by two years on the musical and theatre course at Arts Educational, Chiswick, London. During all her training she performed in many large venues including the Birmingham Hippodrome & London's West End and also worked for P&O cruise liners on board The Canberra as a dancer with The Stadium Theatre Company. Abigail has also had walk-on roles in many top soap operas including Coronation Street & Hollyoaks.
Abigail has now been teaching for over 16 years and has reached licenciate level with her teaching qualifications with the I.D.T.A. She is still continuing with her own studies to become an examiner while her own older pupils are taking student teacher exams.
Abigail is fully CRB checked and is on the list of providers for Wigan Extended Learning Services Team. Alongside teaching at her own school, she has begun teaching at Garrett Hall Primary School in Wigan and is teaching several dance workshops at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in Wigan. Abigail is now teaching dance during PE lessons to the Key Stage One children at St Marks C of E Primary School in Worsley, Manchester. Pictor School of Timperly Manchester is a special needs school where Abigail also teaches dance.
At the school we are very proud to have a 100% examination pass rate, with the majority of pupils achieving honours.
We hold our own dance school production each year at The Robert Powell Theatre at The University Of Salford and take part in many professional productions in theatres throughout the country. They include The Blackpool Winter Gardens, Tameside Hippodrome, Her Majesty’s Theatre, The Sadler’s Well’s Theatre and The Royal Albert Halls in London as well as The Fantasy Land theatre in Euro Disney Paris.
